An Aries Thicket ~ 24 March 2011

Having made it through the recent Super Moon and the equinox, we now enjoy an opposition of Jupiter and Saturn - a presumed checks and balance pattern - and the node on the Galactic Center. As well, we stand on the verge of an Aries thicket. Within a few days, Mars joins the gathering in progress in Aries, consisting of Mercury, inching into retrograde gear, Eris, Jupiter, the Sun, and Uranus.

First, a couple of mundane notes, then on to more personal applications.

After a prompt from a reader, I revised the perihelion data for Makemake. Ultimately, Jupiter was on the perihelion of Makemake on the 16th - instead of the 17th as I had noted in my last GT, one day before the big guy reached his own perihelion. At virtually the same time, the Sun, the largest solar system body, stood opposite Makemake. Makemake holds strong environmental, care of the planet considerations. During the above two patterns the seriousness and impact of Japan’s nuclear catastrophe unfolded with greater detail. The extent of the radiation and the report that much of the nearby food supply had been compromised hit the wires. Is the lesson learned? As the Sun in opposition reminded us, “Yo, I’m here and my energy is green.”

Following the earthquake in Japan a good deal of seismic speculation was attached to the Super Moon - a Full Moon at perigee (closest orbital point to Earth). The speculation contributed to a rash of predictions that another massive earthquake would occur during the window of the lunation. This prediction is actually geophysically solid, but maybe not all factors required were considered in those predictions, such as the frequency of major earthquakes in temporal proximity, the statistical correlation of Super Moons to earthquakes. Earthquakes do occur during Super Moons, but not every Super Moon brings a notable earthquake. Still, it could be contended the Earth did shake under this pattern. In this case the shaking resulted from the bombs and missiles used in attacks upon Libya. Any Super Moon is likely to bring about heightened emotional responses as witnessed in this unfortunate global scenario.

I set up a chart for the Super Moon and ran the astrolocality angles over the world. Libya had Jupiter, Eris and Mercury on the descendant, and Saturn on the ascendant. For what it’s worth, Madison, Wisconsin had Uranus on the midheaven.

Okay, back to the upcoming Aries thicket.

I’m not sure if the Mars entering Aries puts up more sting for those enjoying the ingress on April Fool’s Day or not. Perhaps it’s a “before stepping off the cliff, be a prepared fool” message. For good measure, let’s toss in the centaurs, Pelion - named for the mountain where centaurs lived - and Beinor, whose name means “strong man.” Certainly there’s enough strength, energy and self determination to mount any summit appearing ahead. Right? And only with adequate preparation, right?

Within a couple days the lunar north node crosses the Galactic Center, permitting an unending stream of potentially progressive insight to those who pause, listen, assimilate and apply. Apply being an action that should do well given the plethora of push implied by the Aries energy in progress. With these insights, maybe the application of the Mars-Jupiter-Eris alignment at the end of April will contain enough consciousness support to do something that moves us all in the direction of evolution.

In addition to node crossing the Galactic Center, the transits in Aries engage a collection of black holes scattered throughout the sign of Aries. Each of these black holes contains a paradox theme. To be true to Aries, below are bullet point summaries of these galactic inferences.

> What I think of me is none of your business, so don't think of telling me what you think I think of myself.

> The best look at the self comes from deep within.

> Fighting one's nature is a war that cannot be won. Surrender to the nature of your spirit.

> Love cannot be received from others until the lovingness of one's inner spirit is accepted.

> The flame of inner self may not flicker, especially when surging.

> Waiting is one of the greatest uses of time. Why surge against an overpowering tide? Let immovable tides pass.

> One is the loneliest number. Or do you prefer it that way?

> To stand alone, move closer to the crowd. (This should summon the attention of Eris)

Let’s consider some of the objectives of the planets in Aries.

Sun - Be true to you.

Mercury - Express yourself. Take in the input of others. Refine your self-expression. Be clear and be crisp.

Mars - Be quick, but don’t hurry (attributed to John Wooden, iconic basketball coach at UCLA). Before acting, assemble all required tools, resources and consciousness.

Jupiter - Act on only those things you believe. If your actions and beliefs are not in accord, consider changing your beliefs to impeccable alignment with your most pristine nature. It may not be wise to impose your beliefs on others.

Uranus - Go with the flow of inevitable and potentially long implied change that produces self improvement and enhanced dharmic direction.

Eris - Figure out where you need to be included and invite yourself to the party - in accord with decorum and protocols, of course. Shun useless affiliations. Discard attachments to stuff and status. Find your perfect fit, socially and spiritually.

And for good measure once again...

Pelion - Be prepared when taking on the summit. Caution on a climb is not a bad thing.

Beinor - Savor your strength. Fortify your nature. Summon your spirit’s fullest attention. Be willful and centered in any task worth doing.

Oh yeah, Ceres is now in Pisces and as of April 4th, Neptune splashes into the shallow end of Pisces. Hyper-sensitivity, creativity and inspiration linger like seaside mist in the air.

Transformation’s a funny thing. It seems there is a collective mindset that in order to enter a new enlightened era, we must drive the planet to hell and back. Yes, that’s a theme in the mythology seen in tales of Nessus, Pluto and Sedna - the making of a conscious choice that delivers events and circumstances to force spiritual transformation and a resulting consciousness of greater enlightenment. Is there an easier course? If at a fork in the road, maybe twang your inner tuning fork and tune up your inner chords before stepping forward.

There it is. Short and sweet just like Aries likes it.
